Under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of History at the College, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, organized a scientific course entitled “Mechanisms of Writing Historical Research” for the period April 6–7, 2026.
The course aimed to introduce students to the scientific and methodological foundations of writing historical research and to develop their skills in selecting research topics and formulating research problems. It also trained them in the mechanisms of collecting and analyzing sources and references in accordance with rigorous academic approaches.
Furthermore, the course addressed the stages of preparing historical research, beginning with defining the title and developing a research plan, followed by documenting information according to approved academic standards, and concluding with writing results and recommendations, thereby contributing to enhancing students’ academic and research levels.
