College of Education for Humanities Holds an Awareness Seminar Entitled “Narcissistic Personality: Between Self-Confidence and Disorder”

Under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University, Prof. Waad Mahmood Raouf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Prof. Imad Hameed Ahmed, the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, in cooperation with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, organized an awareness seminar on Monday, December 1st, 2025, entitled “Narcissistic Personality: Between Self-Confidence and Disorder.”

The seminar aimed to shed light on the concept of the narcissistic personality and to distinguish between natural manifestations of self-confidence and pathological levels of narcissistic disorder. The scientific themes presented addressed the behavioral and psychological characteristics of narcissism, its impact on social relationships and academic performance, as well as mechanisms for early detection and strategies for dealing with narcissistic tendencies within the university environment.

The event also included open discussions between lecturers and students regarding prominent psychological issues associated with narcissism and ways to enhance students’ self-awareness, fostering psychological and personal balance while reducing negative behaviors that may affect the educational environment.

The College of Education for Humanities, represented by its Dean, Prof. Imad Hameed Ahmed, extends its appreciation to the faculty of the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences and the Psychological Counseling Unit for their efforts in organizing such valuable awareness seminars.
