College of Education for Humanities, in Cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, Holds a Scientific Course Entitled “Fundamentals of Literary Research Writing”

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Tikrit, Prof. Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Prof. Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, the Department of English Language at the College, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, is holding a scientific course entitled “Fundamentals of Literary Research Writing”, scheduled for the period 21–22–23 December 2025.

The course aims to familiarize students with the fundamental principles and methodologies of sound literary research writing, highlighting the most important scientific steps in selecting a research topic, constructing the research problem, formulating hypotheses, and introducing approved mechanisms of academic documentation. It also seeks to clarify the distinctions between modern critical and literary approaches, thereby contributing to the enhancement of students’ scientific and research competencies.

The course includes several scientific themes addressing the concept and importance of literary research, the most common mistakes in academic writing, as well as a practical explanation of citation and referencing methods, and the preparation of research papers in accordance with the academic standards adopted by universities.

This course comes as part of the scientific and training program that the College of Education for Humanities is keen to organize, in line with its vision to strengthen students’ research skills and support the academic and scientific process, and in harmony with the directives of the University of Tikrit Presidency in promoting purposeful scientific activities aimed at improving higher education outcomes.
